Course Description
ITIL v2 Foundations is a two day, interactive, instructor led course that uses lectures, discussions, that introduces attendees to the fundamentals of IT Service Management and the ten core processes as described in the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL).

The course prepares attendees for the ITIL V 2.0 Foundation Certification exam providing sample questions at the end of each unit and sample certification exams provided by the accreditation board for the purpose of preparing for the certification exam.

A one hour ITIL Foundations certification is administered by an independent proctor provided by an accredited certification agency at the end of the course.

Background
The ITIL v2 Foundation course provides an understanding of the objectives and key activities of the ten core service management processes and their relationship to each other. The course provides clear understanding of the business benefits of each process and identifies the dependencies, challenges, and measures required to implement, maintain and improve each process.

The ten processes include:

Service Support

Incident Management
Problem Management
Change Management
Configuration Management
Release Management

Service Delivery

Service Level Management
Availability Management
Capacity Management
IT Service Continuity Management
Financial Management.

None

Audience
IT professionals, management, IT quality teams, suppliers and consultants and those responsible for the implementation and support of information technology.

Learning Objectives
After completing this training individuals will:

Understand the ITIL Framework (what, why, where, when, and basic how)
Understand the 5 Service Support Processes and 1 Function and the 5 Service Delivery Processes at an overview level.
For each ITIL process understand the objective, the terminology and definition, the activities, the benefits, the process relationships and outputs, the roles and responsibilities, and the key considerations for that process.
Recognize the advantages and benefits of using a methodology framework like ITIL.
Be aware of the key success factors for implementation of ITIL based processes
Have an appreciation for the considerations related to an ITIL driven project
Have been prepared for successful completion of the ITIL Foundation Certification exam at the end of the course.

ITIL V2 quick reference guide.
Practice certification exams

Exam Details

Type: Multiple choices, 40 questions.
Duration: Maximum 60 minutes.
Prerequisite: none
Delivery: A paper based exam will be administered by a proctor from an Accredited Training Organization / Provider upon completion of the course.
