Course Description
The ITIL Version 3.0 Foundations Bridging Course provides attendees with a fast track method to upgrade their ITIL Version 2.0 foundations level of knowledge and certification to the current level. The course introduces attendee to new content introduced with ITIL Version 3.0 and acquaints the attendee with significant changes to well known content described within ITIL Version 2.0.
This interactive, instructor led course uses lectures, discussions, to provide a good understanding of the goals and objective, key concepts, principles of each stage in the lifecycle of a service. It explains the goals and objectives of the processes that support each phase of the Service Lifecycle, addresses variations between processes defined in both ITIL Version 3.0 and ITIL Version 2.0, and prepares attendees for the ITIL V3.0 Foundation Bridge Certification exam.
Background
ITIL Version 3.0 represent the second major refresh of ITIL®, an industry recognized framework of “good practices” guidance for IT Service Management. With its introduction in 2007, ITIL Version 3 extends ITIL “good practice” guidance to address advancements in technology and emerging challenges for IT service providers, delivers significant improvements to its approach to IT Service Management, and enhances the ITIL framework to better support the implementation of ITSM.
The ITIL Version 3 framework take a service lifecycle approach providing guidance on IT Service Management “good practices” in these five core disciplines.

Prerequisites
The course is designed to upgrade the attendees ITIL Foundation Certificate to ITIL Version 3. Attendees will need to provide their ITIL Foundation certification number to take the exam.
The certification exam will test both the new V3 knowledge as well as referencing knowledge from previous ITIL version content that has not changed. It is recommended that attendees review their ITIL V2 material prior to the course, as the V2 content that has not changed will not be covered in this course.
